New York State sponsored Violence against Women- the silencing of the slams

To my noble friend, BJ,

Who lost her daughter to cancer accelerated by a blow to her head; and whose other daughter is struggling to recover from a gunshot wound to her head intended for her sister.

BJ continues to battle against institutionalised violence against women.

New York State continues to protect their Public “Safety” employees on Roosevelt Island.

BJ – It’s incredible that this can happen in 2009; that there as yet no reasonable support systems for families affected by such violence. Did you receive Crime Victims’ Services?* Outreach by Safe Horizons? Or do they just print brochures. Is there recognition that the attempt on Denise’s life culminating in Louisa’s near fatal injury is a multi victim crime. Have you received any Protection Orders? Against George, or, sadly, Tommy? Fat lot of good they did to Louisa…perhaps they’ll take them seriously now. The “all guys together- women are crazy” sucks kids like Tommy in – kids abandoned by their fathers, or with low esteem because of scuzzbucket parents…and brings them down too. Once women stop “incubating” there’s no reason to please us. Opinions may dry a tear or so, but they don’t keep you safe, BJ, and I am concerned about the out of control men in the picture…so take care, friend and pursue Louisa’s Law to Federal levels *

On August 16th, 2006, uniformed NY State “Peace” Officers grabbed me from the street as I was returning from a walk. They put handcuffs on me, maliciously tightened, which drew my head back compressing the carotid artery and spinal column at C1,2,3, which has ongoing consequences and resulted in near loss of life. The NYPD saved my life, but the “brass” suppressed any investigation.

I was denied Crime Victims’ Services and medical expenses, which are still ongoing. That meant I could not afford extensive investigations to provide neuro evidence…”  New York Hospital ER Staff were execrable.  New York’s International Center for the Disabled clerical staff had great fun sending me from one place to another, causing me to miss my appointment with the Medical Director.  He had the grace to apologize. NYH sent a patient rep who paid lip service and said she’d follow through.  I had collapsed on their grounds and only one stranger – visitor – helped me.  Not staff.

My neighbours knew me better, but acquaintances thought I committed a crime, was crazy, whatever… I’m a survivor too, BJ, and I’m fighting this every way I can. I’m posting this as an example of “blame the victim” and the deep hatred and prejudice against women in the “intellectual” North East. This is fomented by porn and the sex industry…which objectifies and dehumanizes women as objects for the pleasure and entertainment of men.

On a previous nygulag.wordpress post one commentator wrote that s/he “hadn’t heard” of these crimes. Well, that’s the point of putting them on this site.   The writer is a private person, tends to solve her own problems, but multiple crimes by employees of NY State have been suppressed by NYPD brass, the District Attorney, Mayor Bloomberg’s Office, the NYS Attorney General, Andrew Cuomo, the NY State Inspector General, Joseph Fisch and of course, our “ethical” friends at RIOC: Stephen “deny everything” Shane, Ken “ignore FOIA” Leitner and former President Herb Berman and legal counsel, Paul Harte.  The FDNY attempted an enquiry, but it never went anywhere. No documents promised to the victim by any of the above have ever been provided.

City Council President, Christine Quinn was responsive and brought in Int. 627 to facilitate harassment suits against landlords.  Assemblyman Tom Duane’s aide gave me some pointers, which could not be followed without support from my Assemblyman, Micah Kellner who said he had contact Attorney General Cuomo, but did not follow through with any response.

Then again, AG Cuomo is not exactly responsive and the Victims Day is a farce.  I went there to try and get some help, but it was the usual sanitised, orchestrated State function and I was palmed off on a guy who said he was FBI, pretended to offer help, then took off once it was over.  In other words a cover up.

Disgusting.

Victim was minding her own business as she returned home after her daily walk, when the New York State Felons in Uniform (NYS FUs) aka Public “Safety” Dept grabbed her , forcibly applied handcuffs, sadistically tightened them, pulling her head back, compressing C2, C3 and the carotid artery, and tried to force her into a lurking ambulance, operated by psycho EMT Ruger and silent “I don’t really want to be involved” EMT Fellaria.

Someone called the NYPD and when they arrived, NYS FU/PSD poured out of the office and pushed her into the baking sun and kept her there while the NYPD tried to sort out the situation amidst clamoring, lies, deceit.  While that was on, unprosecuted Sex offender NYS FU/PSD Toro and his stinking, odiferous companion pulled her into the lurking ambo.   During this unlawful transfer, NYS FU/PSD Toro committed sexual battery.

The NYPD ordered the removal of the handcuffs. PSD FUs took their time about it.  An EMT Supervisor was brought in, who was over her head, and protective of the EMS, threatened the victim that if she did not agree to go to Elmhurst hospital she would take her to psyche.

The victim had been standing in the sun for forty minutes, sustaining considerable, permanent nerve damage from the compressions at C2 and C3, and occlusion of carotid artery causing hypoxia.  Her blood pressure was 185/140, critical. EMT Ruger would have known how to induce a stroke and had the motivation – the termination of a witness.

There was neither pretense nor pretext of patient care by the EMT Supervisor or anyone else.

NYPD Officer Bouraisis, an intelligent man and sound professional advised that the victim be seen at the Emergency Room to prove that she had not been drinking, or drugging, or having a stroke, and was not suicidal as the NY State felons  in PSD claimed. So proven.

The crimes of August 16th, 2006, were followed by intense harassment.  NYS FUs followed the victim, parked themselves in her courtyard, outside her door, made “patrols” down her corridor, and maintained such an intense pattern of intimidation and harassment that her lawyer, doctor, and friend in the JTTF advised her to leave home for a while. “You gotta get out of there…” in so many words.

The physical assault, torture, by some definitions,  led to a concatenation of physiological and neurological events that almost cost the victim her life, a second time.

As the commenter said, it “doesn’t make any sense.”

Unless you know the larger picture:  The pre and post Mitchell Lama apartment grab by Jerome Belson Associates, Urban American and DHCR;  the hostile racist woman next door with connections to all of the above and RIOC and Board of Elections who is given confidential information by JBA, DHCR, and has threatened to “get” the victim. I

If the victim were black and the perps white, the outcry would go around the world, but as RIOC’s Shinozaki told the victim, “there’s no such thing as a race based hate crime against white people…” As is, with the bizarre situation on Roosevelt island, with unprofessional landlord/state funded goons, with zero media interest, no elected political representation* anything goes there.

The crimes described here are very very serious, and whenever a teenager goes missing, or a body is found, or a “suicide” is mentioned, I think of PSD FUs and EMT Ruger’s abuse of an FDNY ambulance for the intention of rape-murder.

I am immensely grateful for the assistance of NYPD Officer Bourasis (Hope I’ve spelt your name correctly), and NYPD Sergeant Tommasaro.

There are some decent parties within PSD, but to mention them would cause them to lose their jobs and probably incur threats to their lives.  Nice one, New York State.

To my noble friend, BJ

(BJ just lost her daughter, Denise, to cancer compounded by a blow to her head from her ex husband. yes, she did have an Order of Protection. Perhaps they should issue them to police and politicians instead of bullet proof vests. See how they like that.
BJ’s other daughter, Louisa, is trying to recover from a bullet wound to her head, a bullet intended for her dying sister, but which she took instead.
BJ has already lost her son. That is one, brave woman. http://www.free-us-now.com

ROOSEVELT ISLAND – INIMICAL TO ARTISTIC CREATIVITY

THE PLAYWRIGHT

First a pause for Heath Ledger and others lost before their prime.
Heath was an actor for whom playwrights dream of writing. He inhabited his roles with great sensitivity and respect for his characters. His roles became increasingly dark and choices puzzling. He was a generous actor. Failing to protect himself may have contributed to his premature demise.

As a produced dramatist and (unpublished) novelist I feel a responsibility to actors and audience, but especially actors. With rare exception, the audience shows up once, has dinner, goes home, entertained and intellectually stimulated. The actor returns to the role the following night. My themes are heavy – very heavy, but I always attempt to interject irony, humor, hope and redemption. My background in science often tempts me to more “explosive plots,” but I refuse to write “how tos” for terrorists and criminals irrespective of the potential pay off.

As a member of SAG I was disappointed at the gratuitous violence in most of the nominated movies. Arts for arts’ sake has become violence for its own sake, and it sometimes seems that writers are writing less from life experience than “upping the ante” in re-hashes of old movie and television plots. Or X boxes. The old guard knew how to create tension in a look, an out of place pause? To establish character without inundating the audience with profanity. Yes, I will support First Amendment rights, along with the right not to pollute my brain.

Why am I a dramatist. Ask me why I breathe. Writing is oxygen for the soul. I write plays because I cannot not write plays. I cannot ever remember not being able to read. I was the youngest in kindergarten and the only reader. The teacher had to leave the classroom, handed me a book and said to read to the class. I became so engrossed that I forgot to speak aloud and when the teacher returned all the other tots were crowded around my desk trying to hear.

No fear of that now!

Later that year I refused to go on as the “bluebell fairy,” because I knew that the role of Fairy Queen was mine. That the Fairy Crown didn’t fit my brain powered cranium was irrelevant. I had read Shaw, Wilde, Pinnochio and Alice in Wonderland unabridged and I knew drama! The word “temperamental” showed up on my school report that year. No respect for the wisdom of babes. I wasn’t yet five years old!

A few years later my intelligent and perspicacious teacher, Mr. Mott, in Hampshire cast me as the lead in the class play. He was ex British Army stationed in India, and gave me an enduring respect and affection for “our chaps.” We then moved to Ireland.

If there were an opportunity to express my musical gifts, England would have sent me to the wonderful Yehudi Menuhin school for child prodigies, but there’s nothing in the world for the literary prodigy, and a girl with super math/science skills better conceal them if she doesn’t want taunts, bullying and social exclusion. Bullying becomes more sophisticated in adulthood with “intelligent” articles on the relationship between genius and insanity. Take Van Gogh; the guy lived on black coffee, wine and whatever food he could scrounge, all the while creating a treasure house of artwork for his greedy brother, Theo. Mozart wrote over a thousand works, heard three hundred, the assumption being he wasn’t paid for the other 700. James Joyce lived off his supernaturally patient brother, Stanislaus, while teaching basic English to Italians. Too many prodigies die young, leaving academia to smirk in the counting house while outwardly lamenting the loss to the world. Perhaps the general public or awarding authorities need their communal heads examined.

It’s frustrating having an Irish name and a cosmopolitan background. Irish men are allergic to intelligent women and while I’ve talked a number into celebrity status, they’ve a habit of kicking a potential female rival off the career ladder. I can do “ochone, ochone, a weela walya,” dialogue but not with a straight face. McDonough’s welcome to that, though those of us in the know see him as a Londoner translating urban thuggism into rural Ireland. It’s disappointing to see New York audiences lapping up all the cliches and stereotypes inflicted on the Irish in previous years, revisited by McDonough. Although that’s expected of me, I won’t do it. Then again…another nascent play has just joined the queue…

I’ve written plays in school copybooks, driving in cars, in quiet corners at noisy parties, with an infant sleeping in one hand and a pen in the other. As a woman, “permission” for time to write is grudging, so my writing is compressed and concentrated. I complete my plays quickly, every line interlocking into the next, like, I hope, a finely engineered clock with a few rambunctious cuckoos to keep the audience awake! The physical act of writing is secondary to the mental processes which, like fine wines, can mature for years. I have three dramas “in holding” waiting for landing time like planes circling JFK, but the present priority is preventing Jerome Belson Associates/Urban American from snatching my apartment. “We know you’ve paid the rent,” they say, but…

With the exhausting exigencies of living on an island whose access becomes unreliable at any hour of day or night, it’s difficult to attend theatre and opera, dinners or parties to network, an integral component of our industry.

It’s akin to giving birth. They gestate for a while. When due, my otherwise placid nature becomes edgy, territorial of space and time. I become a bear disturbed in mid-winter. As a woman, space and time for creative enterprise are not a “given.”

Another analogy is the “holding pattern.” The plays circle the “landing zone” until space and time become available, usually August when the town empties, and I write intensely, and sleep the deep, dark peace of catharsis.

The Hon Joseph Fisch
NY State Inspector General
Empire State Plaza
Agency Building 2, 16th floor
Albany, New York 12223

Re: Roosevelt Island: RIOC, DHCR, PSD, RIHM
Tuesday, August 19, 2008
Dear Inspector General Fisch,
The depth of corruption in NY State agencies operating on Roosevelt Island is staggering. Otherwise it is an Orwellian nightmare/social petri dish established to examine the stress limits of an urban population.
Corruption extends to NYC and everywhere and everyone touched by RIOC and its private army, Roosevelt Island Public “Safety,” both New York State entities. PSD have committed most of the crimes and felonies on R Is, engaged in cover ups, lied to the NYPD who say off record,” most of the problems on R Is are from PSD.”
After an appalling attempt on my life by PSD on August 16th 06 and November 2, 06, I was shocked to learn that although the NYPD were witnesses and intervened on both occasions, there would be no prosecution or investigation. Each time I requested a Report Number I was put on hold. Details attached. I received no Crime Victims Service and have sustained long term neurological and economic damage requiring investigation and treatment. One doctor is assisting me and is very kind about allowing me to owe him, but he deserves to be paid. He saved my life, but I suffer the consequences.
Gloria Allred e-mailed me that I had a case and to move on it, but New York lawyers are reluctant to take on New York State knowing they will be bogged down with deception and delays, suggestive of deep corruption.
DHCR has joined PSD-RIHM/Urban American in an attempt to deprive me of my home. They are doing this by “losing” documents, calling in “Informal Hearings” where my family are the only euro americans present, and where confidential information is diverted to a hostile neighbor . (See enclosed) I advised by phone that I was not well enough to attend, and two days after hostile neighbour announced that she was going to “make me lose my apartment,” I received a letter from a Ms Malandriti to the effect that my subsidy was removed. No one knew Ms. Malandriti at DHCR’s Beaver Street offices. I’m afraid to give any more documents. (see attached)
Re DHCR, the treatment of long term residents of Roosevelt Island is appalling. We are being driven out of our homes, confused by conflicting paper work, pressured into illness or, in one case, depression. For four years I’ve found my neighbors walking the street in tears. To my knowledge there has been no compensation for the forcible downsizing (even Commie China compensates sometimes) no assistance with moving, etc. DHCR has allowed RIHM/Urban American/JBA to triple rents overnight, without commensurate improvement in services. No doorman (not a luxury when you’re stuck in Manhattan by Tram or Train contingencies), roaches crawling over and around garbage room walls for three weeks, malfunctioning fridges, broken tiles. I’ve been inspected three times, received a partial paint job. RIHM uses Housing Court to harass older women with health issues.
Once downsized, thirty year residents of R Is are listed as having a one year lease, losing statutory rights. Grandparents have to fly cross country or abroad to see their grandchildren as they no longer have room to put them up. Department of Housing and Community Renewal is a dishonest, de facto Community Destroyer.

FEDERAL INVESTIGATION NEEDED FOR ROOSEVELT ISLAND PUBLIC “SAFETY”

FEDERAL INVESTIGATION AND NYPD NEEDED FOR ROOSEVELT IS.

ROOSEVELT ISLAND IS NOT A CRIME FREE ISLAND

MOST OF THE CRIMES AND FELONIES ARE COMMITTED BY ROOSEVELT ISLAND PUBLIC “SAFETY” (PSD) AND COVERED UP BY PUBLIC “SAFETY” AND RIOC.

THESE NEW YORK STATE EMPLOYEES CHARGE THE TAXPAYER $9 MILLION PER YEAR TO ABUSE RESIDENTS AND SHAKEDOWN FOOD MERCHANTS.

“PSD” DO NOT PROTECT ISLAND RESIDENTS.  THEY SERVE THE ILLUSION OF A CRIME FREE ISLAND BY SUPPRESSING EVIDENCE, PREVENTING FELONIES FROM GOING TO TRIAL AND ABUSING COMMUNITY ADVOCATES.

THE ABSENCE OF PROFESSIONAL POLICE ATTRACTS PREDATORS.

CRIMES ON ROOSEVELT ISLAND INCLUDE FROM 1976 to present:

ABDUCTION AND RAPE OF CHILDREN FROM PLAYGROUND

MURDER SUICIDES

ATTEMPTED MURDER

RAPE OF ADULTS

ASSAULT, BATTERY, BULLYING VANDALISM BY FRIENDS OF PSD

ARMED ROBBERY (By Island Youth in Manhattan)

LARGE SCALE DRUG DISTRIBUTION

LOCAL DRUG DISTRIBUTION

CRIMES BY PUBLIC SAFETY ARE:

ABDUCTION/ASSAULT WITH INTENT TO HOMICIDE

RECKLESS ENDANGERMENT CAUSING GREVIOUS BODILY HARM

ASSAULT AND BATTERY OF A MINOR

SEXUAL BATTERY

AIDING AND ABETTING IN THE ASSAULT AND BATTERY OF A MINOR

OBSTRUCTION OF JUSTICE IN FELONY ATTEMPTED MURDER

AIDING AN ABETTING RACIST HARASSMENT OF TENANTS

ARREST ON FALSE CHARGES

LYING TO THE POLICE

DEFAMATION OF CHARACTER, CIVIL AND HUMAN RIGHTS VIOLATIONS etc

NYPD officers have interrupted a number of crimes in progress but are prevented from investigating them.  There are no report numbers, crime victims services or other protections for their victims.  Queens and Manhattan DAs are hostile and unco-operative and in the Mugabeist climate of contemporary NY, the NYPD Hate Crimes and NYC Civil Rights units are hostile.  NY State Attorney General fails to respond to complaints by elected representatives.  RIOC shreds evidence and FOIA requests.

RIOC (The Feudal Dictatorship “running”  Roosevelt Island) is a place where incompetent party apparatchik’s are tucked away.  It is now headed by Stephen Shane, aka “Mr. Shame.”

He is either incredibly stupid or consummately corrupt.

His response to a complaint regarding Public “Safety” was “It’s not in the log.”

Therefore it didn’t happen.

PSD may be – with exception – the scum of the earth and otherwise unemployable barrel bottoms, but even they aren’t stupid enough to LOG THEIR OWN CRIMES!

D’UH!  DOUBLE D’UH!

“Shame’s” predecessor, Berman, was equally indifferent to the concerns and suffering of victims of PSD but not as arrogant as Stephen “Shame.”

Even so, his career was ended by a bolt of lightning which shorted the tram, and triggered a jurisdictional stand-off which led to residents being suspended over the river for 8 hours  in the tin box which serves as “transport.”

Apparently the issue could have been resolved within twenty minutes or so….

It will be interesting to see how Shame’s career ends.

Be well.  Be happy that you are not living in this inaccessible boondoggle right now.

To my friends and neighbours.

Re: Roosevelt Island Public “Safety” Department

Dear Friends and Neighbours,

I have just learned that PSD conducted another raid on my home in my absence and apologise if you were disturbed in any way.

You have my assurance that I and my children are law abiding citizens: we are not insane, we are not psychopaths, we are not criminals and have done nothing to justify this abuse, which is driven by the jealousy and hate of one woman with an extensive “reach.”

I have years of volunteer service and awards in Drama and Science.  I enjoy the respect and affection of many persons of distinguished public and artistic service. I have the privilege of a letter from the late Blessed Mother Teresa thanking me for my services to her Order.  My plays have been produced in NY, PA, New Jersey and Ireland.

Rosalind Fernandez, of Apt 103, has waged a war of hatred, slander and harassment against me and my family since I moved here in 1976 with my little girl and baby boy.  The tramway contingencies at the time seriously impacted on my career, with economic consequences which trapped me here.

As an officer of the Lenox Hill Democrat Club, and friend to the former Personnel Director of RIOC  and associate of various parties within DHCR, Fernandez has the political connections to get her friends into the Public “Safety” Department, to create hostility in DHCR and to get Management to do her dirty work.  She has a history of harassment of white, fair hispanic and Jewish tenants and at least one physical assault on a small Jewish child – now an adult former District Attorney.

All of the above is verifiable, and I have been silent about this too long.

If you are my friend and neighbour and witness any harassment against me and my family by any of the parties mentioned above, please call the NYPD immediately.  They may be prevented from taking further action, eg., filing charges and forwarding reports to the DAs office, but they have already saved my life on two previous occasions of assault by PSD. (August 16, Nov 2, 2006)

Thank you and God bless you for being great neighbours;

Living with terror on Roosevelt Island

Tags

, , , , ,

I have just returned from Europe, where I am safe and free, and the fear is starting up again. It’s not an irrational fear. Not feeling fear would be irrational under the circumstances.

Law abiding citizens are entitled to the presumption of liberty and protection from assault and violence from employees of the State.

That presumption must exist in a democracy, otherwise the term democracy is an oxymoron.

Roosevelt Island is not a democracy. It is a feudal state run by a Corporation. The structure of a Corporation can reflect that of a feudal state, except that the serfs, ie, lowest paid employees, are free to live, if they can live with consequent losses.

The Roosevelt Island Operating Corporation (RIOC,) board includes the Commissioner for the Department of Housing and Community Renewal (DHCR) and token tenant representatives appointed to destroy the growing movement toward self representation.
DHCR’s role is questionable. DHCR employees move into apartments coercively vacated by DHCR and Housing Management pressure tactics after the Mitchell Lama buyout. These tactics include repeated loss of documents, eviction hearings at Housing Court. Elected representatives express concern, acknowledge the problem but do nothing to address it. Housing is a morass, a quagmire, a quicksand into which careers may sink.

Fear comes into the picture when violence and the threat of death or loss of liberty intrude on every day life.

Terror comes in when the perpetrators are NY State employees, in uniform, known for corruption, known for shake downs of local merchants, known for allowing drug dealing, known for false arrests, known for harassment of white and Jewish tenants, known for colluding with dangerous tenants, suspected of sexually abusing teenagers, and so on.

Fear and terror escalate when the NYPD, DA, State Attorney General and the State Inspector General refuse to take appropriate action.

The assault: I took a break from writing my novel and went for a brief walk. This was customary. My sister’s ex, Neil Jordan had just broken set of Brave One and left, but I continued in that direction. It was hot and I was tired, so my walk was briefer than usual. On my return to Westview a small female “Peace” Officer come from behind and told me I “was having a stroke and had to talk to the “PO” in front as he was an EMT. I said I’m not having a stroke and continued. The PO, an odiferous, filthy man, blocked me and said “you’re having a stroke, you can’t go home alone. You have to come with me.”

I said I wasn’t and he could call my daughter if he was concerned. He said he couldn’t. I said why. He said because he couldn’t make phone calls from his radio. I said call the office and have them call my daughter. I continued home with him tailing me but feeling oppressed sat briefly outside the chapel. Woodie came along and said he’d call my daughter. At that point I should have gone with him but I was becoming paralysed with fear.

I tried to walk away, but the creep grabbed me and a third PSD “Peace” Officer grabbed my hand and applied handcuffs. He leered into my face and smirked as he tightened them to a dangerous level of arterial occlusion. I was holding orange juice and it went up and over his uniform. Boo hoo.

These men were taking my liberty; they had further criminal intent and yet pervert Toro was upset about his uniform.

He was with two EMTs, Fellaria and a psycho named Ruger. He was hyper as if on something. He kept shouting for the benefit of passers by that I was
“having a stroke…
“drinking…”
“suicidal…”

None of the above were true but they couldn’t have done more to induce a stroke than they did that day.

My daughter had arrived and called the NYPD. In the meantime they placed me in the hot sun on the road side of the glass and concrete screen separating pedestrians from traffic. I was standing in the hot sun with tight handcuffs occluding my circulation, my head pulled back, compressing my heart and spinal cord.

My BP was going up to 185/120.

The police came. As they did, a large number of PSD employees flooded out of the office. There were so many, who should have been off duty – it was a quiet day in August, after all, that I must assume this was the planned “entertainment.”

The vicious PSD PO Michelle Evans who tried to steal my camera on a previous occasion lied to the police saying I assaulted a child and was “a danger to myself and others.” Anyone who knows me knows I am incapable of hurting a child.
She was not even officially on duty that day according to reliable sources so this was a complete set up, possibly arranged by her malicious,”spite on white” racist, friend from the Lenox Hill Democrat Club.

The home wrecking female “lieutenant” refused to remove the cuffs. The two initial perpetrators, Toro and the odiferous one, dragged me into the ambulance in violation of City regulations. Odiferous contaminated the gurney by sitting on it with his filthy uniform.

Only a certified EMT can transfer a patient into an official NYFD ambulance.

While dragging me in to the ambulance by my bare ankles, the perv, Toro, ran his hands lasciviously down my body, shivering in the process.

So that’s sexual battery, compounded by unlawful imprisonment, unlawful arrest, kidnapping, abrogation of civil and human rights, etc.

An EMS supervisor arrived, and being clueless as to the history of assault and battery by PSD against my family, and determined to protect EMS, she insisted that I go to hospital, threatening to take me to a psych ward at Elmhurst if I didn’t.

She was totally out of order and deserves to lose her job. If she believed I were an “EDP,” or “Emotionally Disturbed Person,” another useful term for getting rid of political enemies in the far left repertory, she was obliged to get a doctor’s scrip.

Handcuffs should not be used on EDPs. There are cloth restraints, and I was remarkably calm under the circumstances. I was calm because I knew I had to conserve energy.

Despite the fact that I was standing in baking sun for almost an hour, she refused to give me water. There was no pretense of patient care, eg., pulse and blood pressure.

The NYPD 114th PO – Bouraises, I believe, was intelligent and calm and civil and encouraged me to go to the dreaded Elmhurst Emergency Room to obtain evidence of non alcohol use, non drug use, non suicidal ideation, etc.

As the hospital clerk was taking my info, Ruger and “silent partner” Fellaria walked out. Fellaria had not participated, but by not helping me, he was also complicit. Ruger stood at the end of the gurney (trolley bed) and stared malevolently down at me.

The ER doctor, a fine young man, from a country also known for political oppression, was very understanding, but we still went through the “walk a straight line,” check for dentures procedures. Labs came back clear, but I was requested to wait until my blood pressure started to go down. He did understand that the ER environment wasn’t helping.

It is astonishing to me that two years after the perpetration of the crimes, with subsequent near fatal crash in health, and loss of income, that there has been no investigation into this extraordinary violation of my civil and human rights.

Life changed after that. There was no follow up by the NYPD, no report number, no records. The DA refused to investigate and played nasty games in Manhattan. The Inspector General did not respond to my complaint, neither did the Attorney General, Andrew Cuomo. The local Komsomol, Roosevelt Island Operating Corp, (RIOC) also played ‘working on a report, will give you when completed,” games. The President of RIOC, Stephen Shane, denied to my face that the aforesaid crimes even took place. Assemblyman Michael Kellner said he would look into it, but did nothing. City Councilwoman Jessica Lappin said ‘there was nothing she could do” after ignoring my letter. Mayor Bloomberg said to me that “he’d look into it,” and assigned a flunkie to the matter, so that, too, has been buried. The Fire Department started an investigation, but so far I have received no reports.

After all, the perpetrators were employees of New York State and took place on New York City ground. Why would they enable a massive lawsuit against themselves.

The crime was followed by an assault on my apartment Nov 2, 2006 following a request for action at the 114th Precinct. Once they dumped me onto the Community Police officer Katonay, I knew that was the end. However, Sgt Tommasaro, a noble man, didn’t allow PSD and EMT – yes Ruger showed up again – to drag me out of my home and – kill? gang rape? drug me or make me disappear?

Life has changed completely for me since then. PSD stalked and followed me for two years after that, and may still be so doing. I couldn’t go to a cafe or deli, or take a walk without one of them at my shoulder. They camped out in my courtyard, and threatened to “arrest me as an EDP” when I went in with my grand baby. I stay away from my apartment as much as possible or ask a friend to “buddyguard.” Until this matter is addressed officially and honestly, the risk to my life continues. The presence of a rogue outfit with unlimited powers and zero accountability puts everyone at risk and is anomalous to democracy. I am fearful every time I leave my apartment. Until I reach Manhattan I leave my phone open, ready to dial for help.

The novel has not been completed. It has taken two years to return to it. I cross the street every time I seen an ambulance, now, and would die rather than go inside one. The assault set in motion a concatenation of endocrinal events that almost cost me my life and I have continuous neurological damage, flashbacks and nightmares about the assault. That the perpetrators walk freely is an outrage.
If they can try to make me disappear, how many others have they hurt, or killed. Every time I see a “missing person” poster on Roosevelt Island, I am reminded of the crimes of Public “Safety” officers. end.

Crimes suppressed

RESPONSE TO COMMENTER “IN DENIAL” OR WITH VESTED INTEREST IN SUPPRESSING THE FACTS.

One commenter wrote that s/he hadn’t heard of these crimes.

Well, that’s the point of putting them on this site.

The writer is a private person, tends to solve her own problems, but multiple crimes by employees of NY State, including attempted murder, have been suppressed by NYPD brass, the District Attorney, Mayor Bloomberg’s Office, the NYS Attorney General, Andrew Cuomo, the NY State Inspector General, Joseph Fisch and of course, our “ethical” friends at RIOC: Stephen deny everything Shane, Ken ignore FOIA Leitner and former President Herb Berman and legal counsel, Paul Harte.  The FDNY attempted an enquiry, but it never went anywhere.

No documents promised to the victim by any of the above have ever been provided.

Every attempt has been made to discredit the witness.

Victim was minding her own business as she returned home after her daily walk, when the New York State Felons in Uniform (NYS FU) aka PSD grabbed her , forcibly applied handcuffs, sadistically tightened them, pulling her head back, compressing C2, C3 and the carotid artery, and tried to force her into a lurking ambulance, operated by psycho EMT Ruger and silent “I don’t really want to be involved” EMT Fellaria.

FUs took their time about it.

EMT Ruger would have known how to induce a stroke.

The physical assault, torture, by some definitions,  led to a concatenation of physiological and neurological events that almost cost the victim her life.

As the commenter said, it “doesn’t make any sense.”

Unless you know the larger picture:  The pre and post Mitchell Lama apartment grab by Jerome Belson Associates, Urban American and DHCR;  the hostile racist woman next door with connections to all of the above who is given confidential information by JBA, DHCR, and has threatened to “get” the victim.

If the victim were black and the perps white, the outcry would go around the world, but as RIOC’s Shinozaki told the victim, “there’s no such thing as a race based hate crime against white people…”

As is, with the bizarre situation on Roosevelt island, with unprofessional landlord/state funded goons, with zero media interest, no elected political representation* anything goes there.  The crimes described here are very very serious, but whenever a teenager goes missing, or a body is found, or a “suicide” is mentioned, I think of PSD FUs and EMT Ruger’s abuse of an FDNY ambulance for the intention of rape-murder.

Now when I see an FDNY ambulance I cross the street.

Testimony, NY City Council*

AFFORDABLE HOUSING
First I would like to thank Speaker Quinn for the opportunity to testify. It’s not well known, but when she was working with Councilmember Tom Duane, Christine Quinn helped to save the hospital chaplaincies, a vital component in long and short term health care.*
Speaker Quinn, Rosie Mendez and voting members of the NY City Council should be commended for the passage of Initiative 627. It’s a good start, but needs more muscle, stronger teeth. In other words, criminalise severely negligent landlords. If I rent a car, that’s a civil contract. If I scratch the car, or the renter has not cleaned it, that’s a civil matter. However, if the car rental company has failed to maintain it safely, uses it for the transfer of illegal substances, etc., etc., or other crimes such as reckless endangerment and drug trafficking, such are criminal violations subject to police action.
Condoning drug trafficking in his building makes the landlord an accessory. The landlord who fails to address roach and rodent infestation seriously jeopardises the health and life of tenants, particularly children and the elderly. The landlord who turns off heat and hot water in winter, risks the life of all tenants, as does the landlord who fails to secure outer doors, etc., and should be subject to criminal charges.
For the record, New York landlords can thank Kalimian Associates and Jerome Belson Associates for the foregoing remarks.
For artists, actors, writers, living in low rent buildings as they work hard to become established, the professional cost of ill maintained buildings is catastrophic. Yet the arts bring in nearly four billion dollars annually to NYC’s economy.
Since the Mitchell Lama questionably lawful buyout my rent has tripled without any commensurate improvement in services.
There is gross discrimination against long term residents, and newcomers to “Roosevelt Landings,” aka “Eastwood” do not receive the same benefits and services as tenants of other buildings on Roosevelt Island, even though they may be paying higher rent.
I came to the US in 1971. I left behind the offer of a starring contract from Sergio Leone of Italy, a directors post at the National Television station, and a science scholarship and career at a prestigious British Government Research Institute and was “one of Ireland’s outstanding young poets.”
I moved into an old but well maintained apartment on East 80th Street owned by the widow of a rabbi. A few years later she sold it to Iranian immigrant Ari Kalimian, who turned the heat and hot water off every week-end in winter for three years. By the time inspectors arrived on Tuesday, the building was warm again. While expecting my first child I had to go to friends for a shower, avoid falling plaster in the kitchen and bathroom, sit by the open stove for warmth and creating the worlds first theatrical celebration of Bloomsday for my late husband, a Broadway actor- now taken over by Isaiah Sheffer and continuing today, June 16th, 2008.
Eventually life in a Kalimian building became intolerable and we moved briefly to a tiny nearby apartment. However, because of construction next door I had to sit up at night with the children asleep on either side to protect them from the rats. My Marxist father gave me Upton Sinclairs “The Concrete Jungle” to read when I was twelve. I was shocked but thought it was in the past, like Dickens’ England pre the Islamic takeover. I never expected to be living it.
A ranking friend from British Racing Motors – Formula One – sent a car to pick me up for lunch but the driver thought he had the wrong address, as the building was so shoddy, and my brief respite from misery was kaput.
A woman at a pediatricians office told me about Roosevelt Island. The apartments were nice, rents subsidized but it was downhill from there.
My personal information was exposed to a hateful spite on white racist who shoved a note under my door the first morning I awoke there. It said “We don’t want you here. We came to get away from people like you…” It was followed by door slamming, overt insults, and a campaign to force me to leave. The woman, who must be ACORN, since despite her semi literate, abusive and vicious conduct, she had fingers in every “slush fund” in the city and was protected by one of the most notorious, corrupt, ex Congressmen in the history of New York.
My career was crashed by unscheduled wildcat tram shut downs, slowdowns, weather outages; even lately, work on Dark Waters was impacted by R Is transport exigencies, The Brave One, by landlord’s abusive agents in Public Safety. How can Staten island run a reliable ferry, gratis, while Roosevelt Islanders are stranded time and again, only ten walking minutes from Manhattan by tram shut downs, train diversions at full fare. Perhaps transport anxiety a means of concealing the shoddiness of other aspects of life here.
The double fare was a killer to a family in the arts with a ‘feast or famine” income and I was set next door to the neighbour from hell, her rather sweet drug and prostitute daughter, and her traumatised granddaughter, now a convicted felon. (Attempted murder, presently working as a surgical assistant in a municipal hospital!) Despite intensive screening, 70% of the tenants on my floor were heavily into drugs. Roosevelt island became widely known as a drug distribution center. The absence of professional New York City Police (NYPD) made it a haven for predators outside and on site. The son of the Personnel Director for RIOC, bullied island kids relentlessly, aided and abetted by his father’s selections in “Public Safety” and as his mother ran an illegal day care center and was close to neighbor from hell, my son became a target. Neighbor from Hell colluded with the landlord, Jerome Belson, to drag me down to Housing Court months in a row on false accusations of non-payment of rent and upped harassment. There were no police on the island, except an occasional bout of “rubber gun” NYPD Community Liaison officers co-opting Public Safety into their protective blue wall.
On paper due to criminal violations of my civil and human rights by the landlord’s agents, I look like an undesirable tenant.
In the public school, children of Belson and NY State employees assaulted my son with impunity.
Between the stress of living in an intensely hostile environment and pneumonia-pleurisy induced by hypothermia due to wildcat tram outages in freezing weather and tropical rainstorms, my health crashed and my career disappeared into a black hole. However my plays are archived in a major European literary institution, and my work as the first Homeopath to successfully treat antibiotic resistant and Hep c patients is documented in major medical institutions in NYC – saving the city and state millions in the process. My answers in the form of questions at a Federal briefing on Aids in the 80s may have contributed to the extended life-span of persons with HIV, and I am a pioneer in the resurgence of alternative health and the alteration of the food pyramid.
I was in the process of developing a corporation to develop phytotherapeutic products based on original formulae when an assailant entered my building through chronically unlocked doors. The abuse to which I was subjected from EMTs to Elmhurst Hospital ER was shattering. In the interest of keeping crime statistics low, there was no investigation of an assault that cost me three years of my professional life. All of this courtesy of Jerome Belson Associates.
I can only imagine where I might be if I could have afforded to leave Roosevelt island and return to NYC with constitutional protections and responsive politicians such as Christine Quinn.
During the questionable Mitchell Lama takeover, I watched my long term neighbors walking the streets in tears as they were forcibly downsized. There was no respect for family, and the fact that the majority of targets -those known to me- were mature women, first or second generation European immigrants and single, divorced or widowed mothers was relevant. A specific community, that of mature white and Jewish single, widowed and divorced women, was targeted by Jerome Belson, an alleged refugee from Nazi Germany. There was no compensation for the intimidation, harassment, misleading letters, and moving expenses. They had to do their own packing, sclepping, etc.,and settle for never having their families together in their homes again.
Even persons in the upper income levels on Roosevelt Island say they’d “love to leave, but where can we go?” They’ve been saying this for years, but since the Mitchell Lama egregiously mismanaged buyouts rents have tripled. On Roosevelt Island’s “Eastwood,” the buyout process trampled on our First Amendment rights and led to serious criminal conduct by uniformed NY State employees with the astonishing collusion of the State District Attorneys. This has been covered up. NY State Attorney General Andrew Cuomo has ignored my letters and those of my elected representative.
If I had not resisted downsizing, my daughter would have had no place to come to have her baby, my beautiful grandson, when her relationship in Ireland broke down., and she needed specialist care unavailable in Ireland. However, my rent has tripled with no appreciable change in standard of apartment, fittings, floors, doormen, etc. I still have to contend with the particulates from worn and broken, ageing vinyl asbestos tiles, incredible dust, inadequate fridge, worn bathroom tiles, long delays in improvement, replacement of a new air conditioner due to faulty wiring (repeatedly reported) losing a day’s work to wait for packages, etc., or schlep to the post office and eviction notices from new owner, Urban American – who are charging the US Taxpayer luxury rent rates via Section 8, for shoddy apartments. In any other business, this would be fraud.
One Island grandmother has to fly to California and Australia to see her grandchildren. She cannot afford the fares and was downsized after Mitchell Lama so her family pays. She’s a great cook and loved to have her family together. A hardworking immigrant has to sleep in the living room and share a bathroom with two strapping sons. When one son joined the military, she was downsized to a two bedroom, There is no place for her daughter to return after graduation., and now that both sons are home again, it’s becoming a little crowded. We are not talking about ciphers, but human beings, families, with their intricacies, complexities and exigencies. All over the city, for one reason or another, grandparents are caring for their grandchildren, and adult children are returning home, as they cannot afford independence in New York City.
At 11 Horatio Street, a woman paying $50 a month for a walk up was bought out for $15,00. The landlord now receives $2,800 per month for the same apartment.
A teacher and recent single mother had to move after her rent went up by $1500 a month to $5,200. She came to Roosevelt Island, where her rent increased from $3,200 to $3,600 in the space of one year.
In the meantime, the municipality continues to encourage the development of massive luxury dwellings , sucking the air and water out of the city, overstretching the sewers, risking power outages, etc. and passing on the costs to the city at large. These buildings may not even be owned or occupied by New Yorkers, or Americans, “adopted or otherwise.” Who can afford them? Are New Yorkers exploitation fodder for foreign business? Kalimian and Belson could provide insights there.
They can do this because of Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac, providing mortgages for populations who cannot pay, artificially conflating the housing market and making it impossible for the working person to pay his/her own way. I challenge Fannie and Freddie and HUD to prove that white Americans have received equal opportunities for home ownership, equal “clinics” in finding affordable apartments, low interest mortgages and funded developments. Then again, if the government stayed out of the mortgage business, we wouldn’t have the present economic disaster, and the housing index would not be as out of control, conflated and inaccessible as it is at present.
I continue to write drama and books on Homeopathic medicine. The Irish American Theatre Company produced my “Irish Ghost Stories” in commemoration of the Irish Famine and we will be hosting a fundraiser for FDNY widows and orphans with my play Nine Eleven in July. We receive no funding from City or State, and are certainly open to it.
The want of affordable housing in NYC has affected a number of my patients. Some were able to get into a building for the disabled, but were then subjected to racist harassment. They were Irish and Irish American, and bless their hearts, successfully organised to end it. I am so proud of them.

SENIORS, ARTISTS, MALNUTRITION, HYPOTHERMIA
A beautiful retired ballerina and dance teacher at a prestigious college came to me with inoperable pancreatic and hepatic cancer. She was on daily shots of Interferon and Sandestatin., unable to work, socialise or travel., and very frail. With the co-operation of her oncologist at Memorial Hospital, I weaned her off the medications and started a program of Homeopathic therapies. She returned to work, went out to theatre and dinner and took a long vacation, but with care. She lived on the fifth floor of a walk up. The landlord refused to fix the buzzer, so if she were tired she could not order in without schlepping down and up five flights of years.
She did progressively well for three and a half years until we hit a summer of 19 straight days of 90 degree weather. The stairs were, predictably, not air conditioned. Ordering food, carrying groceries upstairs in severe heat impacted harshly on her health and at my request she was admitted for hydration and given a high dose of Lasix and no follow up hydration. Definitely not my recommendation.
Exhausted and dehydrated she collapsed and was brought to Calvary hospice which she had sought to avoid where she died two months later.
It is my belief that decent, affordable housing in an elevator building would have prolonged and enhanced the life of this beautiful, gentle and talented woman.
Another Kalimian story. A elderly patient lived in a Kalimian building on the upper East Side, on the third floor. No elevator and a dangerous, winding flight of stairs. from the first to second floors. It hadn’t been painted for years, crawling with cockroaches, etc. My patient was a dignified lady, an Irish immigrant,; too embarrassed to invite friends over she became increasingly isolated.
The apartment was freezing in winter, but facing west, not too bad in summer. Kalimian’s response to complaints of cold was the provision of a fake thermometer fixed at 80.
My dear patient suffered from malnutrition – she was too weak and subject to hypothermia to fend for herself and was manifesting malnutrition related dementia. I hadn’t seen her for a number of years when a neighbor called a mutual friend to say that she was “wandering the streets.”
After hospitalisation and three square meals for a while, she was back to her feisty self. (more)
There is great danger that seniors with malnutrition are being misdiagnosed with age related dementia or Alzheimers.
After I spoke publicly about the extreme prices at the state subsidised supermarket on Roosevelt Island, and the appearance of malnutrition in seniors, buses were laid on to take the seniors to supermarkets off Roosevelt Island and are still in use.
In the Orwellian nightmare that is Roosevelt Island, with Urban American’s Federally funded apartment grabbing and their desire to convert the Senior and Disabled building to luxury condominiums, discontinuing the shopping buses may be the quickest way to induce manutrition based dementia and empty the building.
In the old days we could throw our coat over our pajamas and go out to get an early (5-6am)newspaper and coffee. Worked for me – I filed the occasional article on European time. Today that would translate as “wandering the street in one’s nightwear,” a quick trip to ‘Shady Pines” apartment grab.
Take my friend, “Daisy.” Retired nurse, early eighties, smart as a whip, but a rascal. Wednesday she’d glam up and toddle out to party with old friends in Woodside. Thursday morning, no sign of Daisy – hangover time. Friday, she’d run out for cigarettes and “still in the moment,” lose her keys. Saturday and Sunday were spent with family and she’ d return on Mondays ready to rock and roll all over again.
They wanted her apartment. As a long term resident she would have rights. As the mother in law of a Real Estate attorney, and popular neighbor, she’d easily fight eviction. Housing/Public Safety started to call her adult daughters.
“Your mother was wandering….” “we found your mother…” etc.
It’s easy to misdiagnose Alzheimers with unchallenged “official” statements like that, and a Thursday or Friday “symptom” picture, and eventually she moved away to stay with a family member and died of a stroke a few months later. (Note: Alcohol serves as a blood thinner and should never be abruptly withdrawn from long term users without careful monitoring.)
***
There is a lot of smoke to the effect that landlords all over NYC are using EMS to solve their eviction problems and that a very few may be on the take. Mature women are the main targets. “Crazy lady” needs to go into the garbage along with “nigger,’ “dyke” and “kyke.” It is a virtual immolation, de facto de-humanisation, and more enduring than any of the fore-going epithets.
My own experience with a rogue EMT and Roosevelt Island’s Public “Safety”made these rumors plausible to me. Employed by NY State and receiving considerable revenue via Jerome Belson Associates, these de facto felons forcibly abducted me from Main Street, causing grevious bodily harm. My life was spared by the intervention of the NYPD, but physical and neurological problems continue. The NYPD was prevented from investigation, no report number was provided, and no Crime Victim Services were provided. It was followed by another assault on my home, breaking and entering, etc., again interrupted by the NYPD with no investigation.
Still in shock after the assault, kidnapping, abduction with apparent intent to homicide and absence of NYPD investigation despite the NYPD intervention, I mentioned it to a former mayoral housing executive who responded with a hug and sad comment –
“Deirdre, they’re after your apartment.”
They are still “after (my) apartment,” and that of the Seniors and Disabled, but I have nowhere in New York City to go. The Seniors and Disabled have some protection if they act quickly. As of now, with three hundred Senior centers closing, the new landlord trick of giving new leases dating back a year, thereby destroying eligibility for SCRIE and DRIE exemptions, and the massive rumors of EMTs moonlighting on of landlords and dragging long term tenants out as “Demented” it may already be too late.
The Barbarians have over run the gates of civilization.
Thank you.
End.
**Testimony not given. Was #114 when I arrived. They were still around the 20 mark when I left.

Thank you.
End.
